John S. Joubran

"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live." — John 11:25

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather John Salem Khoury Joubran, who entered eternal rest on June 22, 2026, at the age of 90.

John was born in 1936 in Ramallah, Palestine. He graduated high school at age 16 and attended college in Michigan to obtain his bachelor’s and master’s degree while supporting his family. He was blessed to marry the love of his life, Nadia (Shami). Together, they built a beautiful, exemplary life that most people only dream of achieving. Over more than 61 years of a deeply devoted marriage, they established a lasting legacy rooted in faith and family. Whether they were all singing in the church choir together, attending a Ramallah convention, or simply gathering at his home, there was always a beautiful flutter of activity around him. John is truly known for his immense wisdom, his strength, and his boundless kindness.

John was a pillar of the Ramallah community. For decades, he was a steadfast supporter of Ramallah organizations that held true the traditions that work to preserve the heritage and strengthen the bonds between generations. His generosity, kindness, and commitment to helping others left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

John is reunited in glory with his beloved son, Salem John Joubran; his parents, Salem and Jane Joubran; and his brother, Makram Joubran.

His beautiful legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Nadia (nee Shami); and his devoted children and their families: Lila Kurzum (Edward), daughter-in-law Katherine Joubran, Jane Tadros, Michelle Khalaf (Steven), and Sylvia Gaffney (Sean). He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his cherished grandchildren and his great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and brother Victor.

As we mourn his passing, we also remember a life marked by service, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those around him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the example he set for future generations.
