Jorge A Cruz

Jorge A. Cruz, 86, of Passaic, passed away, on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, Mr. Cruz was raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico.  He came to the mainland United States in his early twenties and settled in Passaic where he resided for most of his life. Prior to retirement, Mr. Cruz had been a dedicated employee for 34 years with the United States Postal Service in Paterson NJ.

Mr. Cruz had many interests including playing his guitar, cuatro. and piano. He enjoyed music, gardening and was a big fan of the New York Mets.  

He was predeceased by his parents, Atanacio Cruz Burgos and Carmen Garcia Velez, and siblings, William Cruz, Jose Luis Cruz, Christino Cruz, Santiago Cruz and Maria Nelly Cruz.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Carmen (nee Pacheco) Cruz; five children, Marisol Cruz, Lizbeth Cruz, Michael Cruz, Jorge Cruz, Jr. and Amy Cruz; grandchildren, Karina Cruz, Tony Cruz, Devin Blackman, Justin Blackman, Jaiden Quinones, Daniel Batista, Jonathan Batista and Michael A. Cruz; and his siblings, Gladys Cruz Colon, Radames Cruz Garcia, Ada Iris Cruz Garcia and Enrique Cruz Garcia.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by the burial at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Clifton.
