José Daniel Cardona, 97, of Paterson passed away on November 12, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Colombia, Mr. Cardona lived there before then coming to the United States over forty years ago and settling in Paterson. In Colombia, he had been employed as a factory worker with Fano Oxygen in Colombia. He was an avid soccer fan, especially of FC Barcelona, Lionel Messi and Atlético Nacional in Colombia.
Mr. Cardona was predeceased by his beloved wife, Fanny Villegas de Cardona, in 2015; by three loved children: José Ignacio, Victor and Odila; and by his five dear brothers and three cherished sisters.
He is survived by seven children: John, Lucia, Maria, Clara, Beatriz, Astrid and Gloria; fifteen loved grandchildren; twenty-one cherished great-grandchildren and two adored great-great-grandchildren.
Visiting will be Tuesday November 17 from 10:30am-12:30pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Face masks are required to be worn and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to for both the visitation and funeral. Funeral services to follow beginning at the funeral home at 12:30pm and then 1:15pm at St. Paul RC Church, cor. Union Avenue and Second Street, Clifton. Private cremation to follow. Due to current restrictions, only 50 people are permitted inside the funeral home at one time therefore it is kindly requested that those attending the visitation be courteous by limiting their time inside in order to allow others the opportunity to pay their respects as well.
