Joseph F. Dewland

Joseph F. Dewland passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at his home in Woodland Park.  He was 82 years old.  Born in Weehawken, New Jersey on February 16, 1939, Joseph was a longtime resident of Secaucus, where he served as a member of the Secaucus Board of Education for several years.  A graduate of Michigan State University in 1959 with a degree in engineering, Mr. Dewland also obtained a masters’ of business administration degree from the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University.  Mr. Dewland worked as an electrical engineer for IT&T in Nutley, New Jersey for over forty years where he proudly participated in the Gemini Space Missions with NASA.  Joseph was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Clifton.
 

Joseph is survived by his loving wife Irene, his son, Richard and wife Megan of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, and his brother, James and Bernadette of Michigan.  He was also the loving and proud grandfather of Ryan Dewland and Matthew Dewland. 

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021from 9:00 AM to 10:45 am from Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral service 10:45 am at the funeral home then followed by a funeral Mass celebrated at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Clifton at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.  The Funeral Mass will be live streamed.
