Joseph Stephen Poliska

Joseph S. Poliska, of Clifton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at the age of 79 years. Born in Newark, Joe was raised in Belleville and moved to Clifton as a teenager. Joe graduated Clifton High School. He also graduated with a Bachelor of Science at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Joe’s career was in transportation and worked as a Transportation Manager at Benjamin Moore Paints in Newark, NJ for over 25 years, and was a member of the Benjamin Moore 25-year club. He was also a member and President of the North Jersey Motor Truck Association, as well as a member of the St. Philip the Apostle Knights of Columbus Council #11671. Joe was very active with St. Phillips Church of Clifton and served as a volunteer for several fund-raising events, most notable was the annual Church Bazaar that Joe successfully directed. Joe’s favorite sport was bowling and played on many clubs in his lifetime.      

Beloved husband of Paola. Devoted father of Steven Poliska and his wife Daniela of Chester, and Lisa Condorelli and her husband Gaetano of West Caldwell. Cherished grandfather of Joseph, Gianluca, Anthony, Sofia, and Carlo. Brother of Marilyn Lotito of Clifton. 

Visiting will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon at the funeral home followed by the interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
