Joseph Strus

Joseph Strus, 93, of Clifton, formerly of Little Falls, passed away on August 10, 2022. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., Mr. Strus moved to the Singac section of Little Falls with his family as a young child. He resided there all of his life until recently moving to Clifton. Before his retirement, Mr. Strus was employed in the Shipping and Receiving Department of Knickerbocker Machine Shop on Union Boulevard in Totowa.

            Mr. Strus was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served honorably and was involved in combat during the Korean War.

            He was a former member of Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Ascension Cathedral in Clifton.  Mr. Strus enjoyed watching baseball and following his favorite team, the New York Yankees.  In his younger days, Joseph also enjoyed music, especially playing the piano and later the accordion in several polka bands for weddings, picnics and other church events.

            He was predeceased by his parents, John and Christina Strus; his sister-in-law, Marilyn K. Strus; and his uncle, Joseph McNavish.

            Survivors include: his dear brother, Peter Strus; one nephew, David P. Strus and his wife, Theresa; one niece, Christine Ann Camano and her husband, Dennis; and his grandnephews and grandnieces, David Robert Strus, Lynzi Christine Strus, Alexa Camano, Bianca Camano, Daniel Camano, and Susana Barbagallo.

            Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by the interment at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
