Josephine (Iuppa) Alfonzo

Josephine (nee Iuppa) Alfonzo, 87, of Wall Twp., formerly of Clifton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 26, 2025.

            Born and raised in Geraci Siculo, Italy, Josephine came to the United States with her husband Mario and their two-year-old daughter Marilyn in 1965, settling initially in Passaic where they welcomed their second daughter Joann two years later. The family then moved to Clifton in 1979 and resided there for many years, and following Mario’s passing in 2013, Josephine continued living in the family home before moving to Wall Township in 2021. Prior to retiring, she had been employed as a Designer and Seamstress as well as in sales with the Brava boutique, formerly located in Clifton. She was a longtime faithful parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church in Clifton and was a member of the Geraci Citizens League, also in Clifton.

            Mrs. Alfonzo was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mario Alfonzo, in 2013 as well as by her two dear sisters and brother.

            She is survived by her two loving and devoted daughters: Marilyn Marks and her husband, Jeffrey, of East Hanover and Dr. Joann Alfonzo and her husband, Martin Klangasky, of Spring Lake as well as by her four cherished grandchildren: Alexandra and Jordan Marks and James and Matthew Klangasky.

            Visiting will be held at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton on Friday August 29th in the morning from 9:30am-11:00am with funeral services to then begin at 11:00am followed by 11:30am mass at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Entombment Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson.
