Josephine “Babe” (nee Peters) Fecanin, 93, of Clifton passed away peacefully on Saturday March 11th, 2023.
Born and raised in Passaic, Babe moved to Clifton in 1952 and resided there since. Between the ages of nineteen and twenty-six, she worked for Hoffman La Roche in the Capsulation department and then left to begin her most cherished role in life, that of being a mother. After raising her two daughters, she returned to the workplace as a Secretary with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. on Broad Street in Clifton and then with the Payroll Department at Automatic Data Processing (ADP), also in Clifton, where she spent the remainder of her career and where she retired. While raising her family, Mrs. Fecanin was a proud Clifton Mustang Band parent and avid booster and was very involved with the School 12 PTA in Clifton having served as President. Josephine was an active member of AARP Chapter 1995 of Clifton and served in many positions. She enjoyed travelling with her canasta group and trips to the casinos.
Mrs. Fecanin was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-two years, George T. Fecanin, who passed away on March 21, 2001; by a loved and deeply missed daughter, Rosemary F. DePinto on August 13, 2017. Josephine was the youngest of her large family and was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Rose, eight brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Georgianna Eben Vaughn and her husband, David, of Ambler, PA; by her trusted and dear son-in-law, Steven DePinto, of Wyckoff; and by her four cherished grandchildren: Christopher Eben of Ambler, PA, Alexandra Eben and her husband, Gerald Horn, of Aliso Viejo, CA, Jordan DePinto of Pequannock and Jenna DePinto of Wyckoff.
Visiting will be Friday March 17th from 3-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Saturday March 18th 10:45am from the funeral home and 11:30am at St. Paul RC Church, 124 Union Avenue (cor. of Second Street), Clifton. Private cremation to follow.
