Josephine (Scancarello) Mazzara

Josephine (nee Scancarello) Mazzara, 81, of Clifton passed away peacefully on September 10, 2022.
Born and raised in Geraci, Siculo, Italy, Josephine came to the United States with her family when she was twelve, settling and living in Passaic before then moving to Clifton in 1969 and resided there since. She was a homemaker and loved to garden, with a special love for flowers and enjoyed sewing.
Mrs. Mazzara was predeceased by her loved and dearly missed husband, Vincenzo (Jimmy) Mazzara, who passed away on August 27, 2018 and by four dear siblings: Filipo Scancarello, Nunziata Parrinello, Antonia Cancilleri and Carmella Scancarello.
She is survived by her two loving and devoted daughters: Marie Graziano and her husband, Thomas, Sr., of Belleville and Susann Leishman and her huband, James, of Clifton; Her dear brother and sister: Charles Scancarello and Maria Tommaro, both of Clifton; and four cherished grandchildren who meant everything in the world to her: Sean, Shannon, Brielle and Thomas, Jr.
Visiting will be Monday from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Tuesday beginning at 9:15am at the funeral home follow by 10:00am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Entombment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery Mausoleum, Lodi. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter (www.alz.org/nj), 25 Vreeland Road #105, Florham Park, NJ 07932 would be preferred and appreciated.
