Josephine P. (Federico) Nugent

Josephine P. (nee Federico) Nugent, 97, formerly of Clifton, passed away peacefully with her brother, Lou by her side on January 21, 2024. Born and raised in Nutley on her grandfather’s dairy farm, Cerami’s Dairy, Josephine resided in Clifton since 1953. More recently she has been living in Mountainside moving to Morristown one year ago. Before her retirement, Josphine was employed as an accountant with Lummis Corp. in Bloomfield. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton. Josephine was part of a very large family and was much beloved by all whose lives she touched..

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert V. Nugent in 2002; her son, Dennis Christopher Nugent in 2020; and her sister, Rose DeMarco in 2021.

Survivors include: her devoted brother, Louis Peccarelli; her sister, Linda Wright and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held 9:15 am Saturday from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton.  Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
