Judith May (nee Scibona) Gioia, 75, of Cedar Grove, formerly of Clifton, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. Born and raised in Passaic, Mrs. Gioia resided in Clifton from 1968 until moving to Cedar Grove earlier this month.
Mrs. Gioia had been employed as a real estate broker with Coldwell Banker in Clifton and served as a Past President of the Passaic County Board of Realtors. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Passaic.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Jack Scibona, Angie Dougherty and Josephine Heisse.
Survivors include: her beloved husband, Alberico Gioia; her devoted children, Jennifer Rose Gioia and Marc Albert Gioia and his wife, Emily Cordaro-Gioia; and her loving grandchild, Joshua Gioia.
Judith lived life to the fullest. She loved to laugh and dance and go on trips to Atlantic City, but most of all spend quality time with her family, which included her many nieces and nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, and all of the friends that she considered family.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 3, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 9:15 am from the funeral home and 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Oak Street @ Myrtle Avenue, Passaic. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or American Cancer Society, 7 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927.
