Obituary

Kenneth Albert Gerolstein “Kenny”, 77,  passed at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, August 20, 2023 after an 8 year-long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. Kenny was a hard-working man whose goal in life was to make sure that his family was taken care of. Born on August 10, 1946 in Brooklyn, Kenny was a Queens boy who sat on the front stoop and had a love for paddleball. In his 20s, Kenny traveled the world with just a backpack living with the common folk. Kenny was a typographical printer in New York City working all shifts for Pandick Press, R.R. Donnelley & Sons, and Bowne Corporation. He met the love of his life and married her in 1981. Five years later, Kenny became a loving father. Kenny had a laugh like no one else. He was a humbled, kind, gentle-hearted soul who would do anything for the ones he loved. He was a good man. Kenny was also a United States Army Veteran serving durung the Viet Nam War.

He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Anne (nee Van Voorhis) Gerolstein.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Charnat (nee Kaczor), his daughter, Ashley, his son-in-law, Jason, his sister, Grace, and brother-in-law, John, and his canine companion, Missy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in honor of Kenny Gerolstein.

Visiting will be Thursday from 3-7 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Service Friday 11:00 am from the funeral home. Private Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018 in honor of Kenny Gerolstein.
