Leonard Mihalik Obituary

Leonard M. Mihalik, 76, of Clifton, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021. Born in Passaic, Len grew up in Saddle Brook where he resided for many years before meeting the love of his life, Mary Ann, and starting a family in Clifton in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard in the late 60’s, followed by a lengthy career in the communications industry starting with NJ Bell and ultimately retiring from Avaya Co. of Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

Len was an active and passionate family man, very involved in his children’s lives and the people in his community of Clifton.  He was a little league coach (Northern Division of Course), a CYO Basketball referee, a Eucharistic Minister at St. Pauls’ Church, served proudly as the President of the Clifton Board of Education for several years, an un-official food critic, a moderator for anything that needed moderating, a devoted husband, and a lasting and dear friend to all that entered his life.  He had a big heart and shared it openly with anyone that needed to talk, laugh, cry, or just listen.  Although we will no longer hear his laughter, his presence will continue to be felt by all that had the benefit of knowing him over the years.

Survivors include: his beloved wife, Mary Ann (nee Hungler); four children, Samantha Towers, Jennifer Kershaw and her husband Mark, David Mihalik and his wife Monica and Seth Mihalik; eight grandchildren, Bryan, Jacob, Jagger, Sydney, Hailey, Kiley, Nico and Skylar; and his siblings, Kenneth Mihalik and his wife Evelyn, Patricia Wesley and her husband John and Frank Mihalik and wife Kerry.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3 to 7 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. The funeral Mass will be held Thursday morning 10:00 am at St. Paul R.C. Church, 124 Union Avenue, Clifton. Please meet at church. Private cremation to follow.
