Lois Shea Obituary

Lois A. Shea, passed away peacefully at home in Clifton, New Jersey, on August 1, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on December 20, 1933, in Passaic, New Jersey, she lived a life marked by faith, devotion, humility, and steadfast love for her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Lois was a Christian woman whose life reflected the grace and strength of her beliefs. She carried herself with quiet dignity and a generous spirit, always seeking to serve others with compassion and care. Those who knew her best will remember her as loving, selfless, and courageous, a woman who met life’s joys and sorrows with unwavering faith and a gentle heart. Her presence brought comfort, her words brought encouragement, and her example left a lasting impression on everyone around her.

A proud graduate of Pope Pius XII High School in Passaic, New Jersey, Class of 1951, Lois was honored as the Valedictorian and served as Cheerleading Co-Captain. She carried the discipline, intelligence, and determination of her youth throughout her life. After her education, she built a successful career as an Executive Administrative Assistant with Pershing Financial in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she was respected for her professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic. She approached her work with the same integrity and grace that defined every other part of her life.

On January 23, 1954, Lois married the love of her life and best friend, Francis Peter Shea, a proud United States Navy Veteran of World War II. Their marriage was a beautiful testimony to enduring love, friendship, and commitment. Together, they shared 62 years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, faith, and the blessings of a close and loving family. Francis preceded her in death, but the bond they shared remained a cherished part of her life and the lives of those they loved.

Lois was the beloved mother of Michael Shea and his wife, Margie; Timothy Shea and his wife, June; Brian Shea and his wife, Susan; William Shea and his wife, Melissa; Lois Partridge and the late Maureen Shea-Sochacki. She was the cherished daughter of the late William and Cecelia (nee Viragh) McCann, and the dear sister of her deceased brothers, William and Thomas McCann. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her love into every generation with steadfast devotion.

Lois was a treasured grandmother to Jamie Shea, Truman Partridge III, Timothy Partridge, Jacqueline Shea, Kathleen Shea-Heyen, Matthew Shea, Daniel Shea, Emma Shea, Cassandra Shea, Olivia Shea, and Haley Shea. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her great joy and pride. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant everything to her, and she delighted in every moment spent with them. Her love was deep, constant, and unconditional, and her family will forever carry the warmth of her care and the strength of her example.

Lois lived her faith. She found great meaning in feeding the homeless at Eva’s Kitchen in Paterson, New Jersey, where her compassion touched the lives of many. She also loved to read and was a member of the Sweet Adelines Chapter and avid admirer of Barber Shop Quartets, interests that brought her joy and reflected her appreciation for beauty, harmony, and learning. In all things, she lived with purpose and a servant’s heart, always mindful of the needs of others.

Her life was a blessing to her family, her friends, and her community. Lois will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to God, and her unwavering love for those entrusted to her care. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, family, and selfless service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her. May she rest in the peace of Christ, reunited with her beloved husband and all who went before her in the eternal presence of the Lord.
