Lorraine (nee Obssuth) Dino, 89, of Garfield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday July 24, 2024.
Born in Passaic, Mrs. Dino was a lifelong resident of Garfield. Prior to retiring five years ago, she was employed as a counter clerk at Dunkin Donuts, initially in Garfield and then in Lodi, and was affectionately known as the “Dunkin Donut Queen”. She was a member of the Women’s Club of Garfield and loved gardening and had tended to two koi ponds for many years but her favorite activity, which she enjoyed right up to three days before her passing, was the simple pleasure of doing puzzles and word puzzles, especially with Aunt Bev and Uncle Eug.
Mrs. Dino was predeceased by her loved and deeply missed husband, Sam Dino, who predeceased her on August 23, 1994; a cherished daughter, Lisa Sudol; two dear brothers: Raymond and Andrew Obssuth; her loving parents, Andrew and Elizabeth (nee Kovacs) Obssuth; and a dear son-in-law, Thomas Piazza.
She is survived by four loving and devoted children: Kathy Scianna and her husband, Paul, of St. Cloud, FL, Sharon Piazza of East Rutherford, Pamela Dino and her wife, Cathy, of Monterey, CA and Peter Dino and his wife, Ashley, of Parsippany; a cherished brother, Eugene Obssuth and his wife, Beverly, who was Lorraine’s “best friend”; ten cherished grandchildren and eleven treasured great-grandchildren. Lorraine is also survived by her beloved cat Penny, who truly meant everything to her and was her life.
