Louis W. Pounds, Jr., 70, of Clifton passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday October 6th, 2023.
Born in Paterson, Louie was a lifelong resident of Clifton. Prior to retiring in 2017, he had been employed as a Warehouse Manager with Belfor, USA in Union. His pride and joy were his kids, and the number one job in his life was being a great dad and husband. A passionate sports fan, Louie chose to give back and devote his time coaching several youth sports. He impacted the lives of kids both on and off the playing fields. It was a labor of love for him. Louie enjoyed watching all his favorite sports teams, including The University of Notre Dame, San Francisco Giants, New York Giants, New York Rangers, Boston Celtics and St. Mary High School (Rutherford). When he wasn’t watching sports, he enjoyed playing his guitar, reading books, fishing on the beach, and spending time with his friends and family. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Paul RC Church in Clifton.
Louie was predeceased by his loved and missed parents, Louis W. Pounds, Sr. in 2012 and Helen (nee Skimbo) Pounds in 2019.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Susan Marie (nee Schaefer) Pounds; his three loving and devoted children: Jessica Pekarsky and her husband, Justin, Louis W. Pounds III and his fiancé, Surinder Aggarwal and Joella Caswell and her husband, Gregg; two dear sisters: Kathleen Pounds and Marylou Alto and her husband, Mike; by three cherished grandchildren: Madyson Pekarsky, Cooper Caswell and Patrick Caswell; and extended family and friends.
