Madia Andrikanich Obituary

Madia Andrikanich, passed away on May 5, 2026, in Clifton, New Jersey, the same city where she was born on November 17, 1926.

Madia lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the many everyday kindnesses that made her so deeply cherished by those around her. She was a lifelong resident of Clifton and carried with her a quiet strength, a gentle spirit, and a warm presence that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was the beloved wife of the late George Andrikanich, and together they built a family rooted in love, loyalty, and enduring support. Madia was the devoted mother of George E. Andrikanich, Robert M. Andrikanich and his late wife Marybeth, and John R. Andrikanich and his wife Michele. Her love extended through the generations and was especially evident in the joy she took in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the cherished grandmother of Ryan Andrikanich, Michael Andrikanich and his wife Alyson, and Paul Andrikanich and his wife Heather. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Kyle Andrikanich, Blake Andrikanich, and the late Tyler John Andrikanich. Her family was one of her greatest blessings, and she treasured each of them deeply.

Madia was the daughter of the late Eugene and Grace, née Salantine, D'Amico. She was also the sister of Eugene “Sonny” D'Amico and the late Leonora Addabbo, and she held a special place in the hearts of her extended family, including her niece, Michele D'Amico. The bonds she shared with her family were a source of great happiness throughout her life, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

She was a graduate of Clifton High School, and after completing her education, she devoted many years to her work with a steady and dependable spirit. Before retiring, she served as a secretary at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Rutherford, New Jersey, and later as a secretary at Paid Prescriptions in Passaic, New Jersey.

Outside of work, Madia found joy in simple pleasures that reflected her thoughtful nature. She and her late husband, George enjoyed setting up a table at flea markets, where they enjoyed selling many different items. Madia was a passionate reader who loved to spend time with a good book. These interests brought her comfort and delight, and they were a reflection of her curious mind and appreciation for life’s small treasures.
