Mafalda (nee Pasquini) Martino, 92, of Clifton, passed away, Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Born in Fraine, Chieti, Italy, Mrs. Martino came to the United States in 1955 and settled in Paterson. She resided there before moving to Clifton 30 years ago. Before her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress through the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Mrs. Martino was a faithful parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton and she also attended Masses at Holy Face Monastery in Clifton.
Mrs. Martino’s passions in life were faith, family and food. Her faith was a big part of her life, but family was of utmost importance. She was a talented cook and loved preparing meals for her family to enjoy.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nicolino Martino in 2016; her parents, Alfredo and Angelica Pasquini; and six siblings, Maria Pasquini, Adriana Pasquini, Vanda Pasquini, Franca Valentini, Dominick Pasquini and Elvira Pasquini.
Survivors include: her two devoted daughters, Maria Angela Martino, Wanda Chandler and her husband, Walter; her sister, Ines Calello and her husband Frank; four loving grandchildren, Jason Turi, John Turi, Danielle Pocchio and Dana Bazo; five loving great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Wren, Angelo, Micah and Liliana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 at 9:15 am from the funeral home and 10:00 am at St. Andrew the Apostle R.C. Church, 400 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Clifton.
