Marge Boyle, 103, of Waretown, NJ passed away peacefully on 12/13/23. Born and raised in Passaic, Margaret lived many years in Fort Lee, NJ before moving to Waretown. She was affectionately known as Marge/Margie. Marge was very active in St. Mary’s Hospital Guild in Passaic and also volunteered at St. Nicholas School functions while her 5 children were there. She was also a devout Catholic and participated in various charitable fund-raisers in local parishes.
She was an avid and accomplished golfer earning a Gold medal in the NJ Senior Olympics in the 90 to 95 year old age group and a Silver medal in the National Senior Olympics the following year in the 96 to 100 year old age group.
Perhaps her most memorable times were spent with her family vacationing at the Jersey Shore and skiing at Lake Placid, NY. Marge and her husband Gene always welcomed family and friends to holiday celebrations. She was extremely involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she cherished every opportunity she had to spend with them as her family was the most important thing in her life.
Marge was predeceased by her beloved husband Gene in 1991, her daughter Maureen 2021 and her son Gary in 2010 and her brother in-law and sister in-law Bud and Patsy Forbes.
A life well lived and long, she was a blessing to all, family and friends alike.
Survivors include her son Gene Boyle, III and his wife Rita, her daughter Kathleen Kohrherr and her husband Charles, her son Tom Boyle and his wife Gail, her son in-law Walter Guarino, her 5 grandchildren Allison, Gene, IV, Christopher, Jenna, Carly and her 6 great grandsons Bradley, Matthew, Travis, James, Callum and Rex and her many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Parish 747 W. Bay Ave. Barnegat, NJ 08005 on Monday, December 18 at 11:00 am.
A private burial will be arranged through Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home 1313 Van Houten Ave. Clifton.
