Maria (nee Egli) Beloni, a devout churchgoer, and matriarch beloved by her family, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 92. A native of Hamroth, Romania, born on July 2, 1933, Maria's life was a rich tapestry woven with love, faith, and a spirited enthusiasm for her many interests.
In 1974, Maria emigrated to the United States, settling in Clifton, a move that marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life. She brought with her a passion for the traditions of her homeland and an eagerness to create a vibrant life in her new community. Maria found employment as a seamstress with Jack Fin Clothing Company in Passaic where her skill and dedication over ten years became well regarded.
Maria's devotion to her faith was unwavering, and she was a familiar face at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church in Clifton, where she attended mass regularly and her loving spirit was shone through her commitment to her faith. Maria also found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether she was cooking, baking, sewing, or crocheting, her hands were seldom idle, and her creations were always made with love. In the warmer months, she could often be found enjoying her favorite outdoor activity…gardening.
Her family was the cornerstone of her existence. Maria was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Anton Beloni, a union that blessed them with a loving daughter, Terezia Beloni. Terezia and her husband Josef, along with their son Ervin, Maria's adored grandson, were the lights of her life. Maria now joins her father, Michael Egli, mother, Magdalena (nee Baumgartner) Egli, her brother, Michael Egli, in eternal rest. Her sister, Margarete Moor, grieves her loss from Germany.
Maria's legacy is one of enduring love, a spirit filled with zest, and a faith that guided her through life's many seasons. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will continue to warm the hearts of those she touched. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Maria Beloni will forever remain a beacon of the loving, spirited, and faith-filled life she so cherished
