Maria C. (nee Caballes) Laya, 51 of Clifton, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025. Born in Cebu City, Philippines she came the United States in 2014. She was a specimen processor at Bio Reference Laboratories, Elmwood Park, NJ for many years.

She was predeceased by her father, Narciso Caballes.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald A. Laya; her mother, Trinidad (nee Villacorta) Caballes; two sisters; and Giovanni and Dexter.

Visiting hours Friday, June 20, 2025 at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, NJ from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral service Saturday 9:15 am at the Funeral Home. Mass 10:00 am St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton, NJ. Private Cremation to follow.
