Maria I. (nee Quinones) Vazquez, 83, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021. Born in Havana, Cuba, Mrs. Vazquez came to the United States in 1961 and first settled in Newark before residing in Union City for many years. Mrs. Vazquez then lived in Scotch Plains for 20 years and Flemington for the last 15 years.
Before her retirement, she was employed as a Phlebotomist with Labcorp in Raritan. Mrs. Vazquez had been a parishioner of St. Magdalen de Pazzi R.C. Church in Flemington. She enjoyed her time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Vazquez was predeceased by her husband, Pedro Vazquez in 2002 and one brother, Atridas Quinones.
Survivors include: two daughters, Patricia Vazquez-Hill and her husband, Gerald of North Caldwell and Marissa Rebimbas and her husband, Antonio of Flemington; one brother, Igor Quinones of Massachusetts; and five grandchildren, Christopher Hill, Danielle Hill, Bryan Rebimbas, Coryn Rebimbas and Madison Rebimbas.
Visitation will be held Friday Evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Lupus Foundation of America, 2121 K Street, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037 (www.lupus.org).
