Mario Berardo, passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by his family in Prayer. Born on July 4, 1942, in Duronia, Italy, he lived a life marked by devotion to his family, faith, and the many people whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.

Mario came to the United States in 1958 and made his home first in Jersey City, New Jersey, later settling in Clifton, New Jersey, in 1989. He embraced the opportunities of his new country with determination and hard work, building a life rooted in perseverance and pride. He was a beautician, owning a salon in Bayonne, New Jersey, where he served his clients with skill and care. He also owned a pizza parlor in Jersey City, New Jersey, and worked as a bartender and banquet captain for the Hyatt Regency in Morristown, New Jersey. In every role he held, he was respected for his work ethic, his warm personality, and the way he treated others with dignity.

His life was a true example of how character, commitment, and heart can leave a lasting legacy. He was a devout Catholic whose faith guided him throughout his life and gave him strength in every season. He was known as loving, faith-filled, and selfless, qualities that were evident in the way he cared for his family and welcomed others into his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Silvia (nee Conte) Berardo, who shared with him a lifetime of love, partnership, and devotion. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Daniela Young and her husband Robert, Denise Miller and her husband Richard, and Anna Mazza. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Heather and her fiancé John, Brianna and her fiancé Din, Robyn and her husband Kevin, Juliet, Lil Richie, and Jayce. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Riley, Colton, Dakota, Layla, and Liliana, as well as Kristopher, who is soon to be born. He is also survived by his brother, Florindo Berardo and his wife Carmela.

Mario was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Michelina (nee Disalvo) Berardo, and by his sister-in-law, Carmela who everyone called Carmalooch. Their memory remained close to his heart throughout his life, and he carried his family history with pride and gratitude.

Mario was a man who loved deeply and lived fully. He especially looked forward to Sundays spent with his family, enjoying time together around the table and sharing the comfort of home-cooked food. Those gatherings were among his greatest joys, and they reflected the importance he placed on togetherness, tradition, and love. He treasured every moment with those closest to him and found happiness in the simple blessings of family life.

He was also a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and the Italian Roma Soccer Team, and he followed both with enthusiasm and loyalty. His birthday on July 4th was especially meaningful to him, and he loved celebrating it with the people he loved most. That day, and every day, he appreciated being surrounded by family, laughter, and the warmth of those who meant the most to him.

Mario Berardo will be remembered for his loving heart, his steadfast faith, and the selfless way he lived his life. He leaves behind a family who adored him, a community that respected him, and a legacy of devotion that will continue through the generations. His life was a gift, and his memory will remain forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 7, 2026 from 2:00 to 6:30 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral service Monday, June 8, 2026 at 10:45 am from the funeral home.
