Obituary

Martha (Marge) Sirvidio, 86, of Clifton passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 25th, 2023.

Born and raised in Carlstadt, Mrs. Sirvidio had been a resident of Clifton since 1958. She enjoyed a lengthy career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) beginning at Passaic Beth Israel Hospital and then spent the majority of it at St. Mary’s Hospital, also in Passaic before finishing her career and retiring from the Passaic County Elks Adult Training Center, now known as NJEDDA, in Clifton. She had also been a Nursery School Teacher at the Grove Hill Nursery School, formerly located in Clifton. Mrs. Sirvidio was a faithful parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church in Clifton where she volunteered to play the role of Mrs. Claus at Christmas time each year, was a Master Gardener, a Founding Member of the Clifton Garden Club and had also been a volunteer at the Murray House, also located in Clifton. One of her most passionate roles though was that of being a volunteer for The Seeing Eye in Morristown where she helped train seeing-eye dogs.

Mrs. Sirvidio was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas L. Sirvidio, who passed away on June 17th, 1989; by her four dear brothers: John, William, Terry and Gordon “Mickey” Steckowich and by a dear sister, Gloria Steckowich.

She is survived by her two loving and devoted daughters: Debra Sirvidio of Clifton and Dawn Yuro and her husband, David, of Lake Wynonah, PA; a dear sister, Patricia Wierzbicki, of Lake Hiawatha; three cherished grandchildren: Nikole Yuro, Zackery Yuro and his fiancé, Kaitlyn Lawniczak and Andrew Yuro and his wife, Tiffany; by two treasured great-grandchildren: Trent Stone and Madison Yuro; and by many loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her two loving German Shepherd fur-granddogs, Garland and Brandi.
