Martin Sudol Obituary

Martin “Marty” Sudol, 75, of Clifton, New Jersey, passed away on September 16, 2025, in Newark, surrounded by his family.

Born on November 12, 1949, in Kopcie, Poland, Marty came to the United States in 1962 and grew up in Passaic.

From 1970 to 1973, Marty served in the United States Army. In civilian life, he worked for many years as a foreman at Compounding Engineering Solutions in Clifton and earlier at the Okonite Company in Passaic. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church.

Marty loved food, and feeding people was the best way he knew to show love. If you ate with him, you ate well — and probably more than you wanted. He could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything, and he didn’t always have a filter. That was part of his charm — whether you were ready for it or not.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, KeCho Kim Sudol, whom he loved and with whom he built a life in Clifton; his daughter, Jennifer and her husband Chris Gash; and his son, Mark Sudol and his wife Christina. Marty was the grandfather to his beloved grandchildren, Sam, Tom, Shiloh, and Lincoln. He never missed a chance to greet them with a hug and the words, “Hello, my beloved grandchild.” He is also survived by his sister, Maria Robles, and an extended family of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and Peter.

Marty was loved, and he will never be forgotten.
