Mary "Jerry" E. (Gawalis) Abbazia

Mary “Jerry” E. Abbazia, 102 of Clifton passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020.

Born in Passaic, NJ she resided there before moving to Rutherford then to Clifton over fifty years ago. Mary was employed at Botany Tie Co., Passaic then at Bendix Aviation Honeywell, Teterboro, NJ before retiring. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, Clifton.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, John C. Abbazia (1969); her parents, Adolph and Mary Gawalis; one brother, Joseph Gawalis; and three sisters, Wanda Marut, Adele Paliga and Elenor Crist.

She is survived by her son, John (Jack) Abbazia and his wife, Evelyn; her daughter, Loretta Vitale; six grandchildren, John Vitale, Marc Vitale, Geffrey Vitale, Scott Vitale, Pamela Abbazia and Paul Abbazia; six great-grandchildren, Chelsea Vitale, Christopher Vitale, Connor Vitale, Kevin Vitale, Katherine Vitale and Baxter Vitale; and loving nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Arrangements are by Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Interment service 11:00 am Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson, NJ.
