Maryann Kloss Obituary

Maryann E. (nee Plaza) Kloss, 80, of Passaic, passed away June 6, 2024. Born in Passaic, Maryann resided there for most of her life. Before her retirement, she was employed as a secretary at Passaic City Hall in the Community Development Office.

Maryann favored watching the Yankees and Giants games and occasionally enjoyed going to a few games with her family. She was fond of listening to country music and especially amused by the tunes of Rod Stewart and seeing him in concert. In her free time, she was entertained by watching Hallmark movies and was an avid QVC shopper. Her love for the beach was instilled at a young age and her children inherited that trait. She always cherished her vacations year after year with her children and grandsons, specifically to Cape May, Point Pleasant and Wildwood Crest.

Maryann’s life was dedicated to spending almost all her time creating life-long memories with her devoted children and grandchildren. Her boundless and unconditional love for her children is unparalleled and she will forever be cherished, loved and honored by them. She was always lovingly entertained with being surrounded by her siblings and their families at all the family get togethers. She was crazy about her title “Fur Grandma” to her grand-dog, Bentley!

Maryann was predeceased by one brother, John Plaza; and her sister, Jane Derendal and her husband, Casey.

Survivors include: her daughter, Maureen Kloss and her fiancé, Dennis Boone; her son, Joseph Kloss; three grandchildren, Steven, Paige and Michael; one brother, Joseph Plaza and his wife, Dorothy; her sister-in-law, Drena Plaza; three godchildren, Eva Marie, Andrew and Jeffrey. Her nieces, Eva Marie, Charlotte, Laurie and Krissy and nephews, Andrew and David along with many grandnieces and grandnephews.
