Maureen Boyle Guarino, of Fort Lee, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021. Born in Passaic, Maureen was raised there for much of her life. She graduated from Lacordaire Academy in Upper Montclair and then from Centenary College in Hackettstown. Maureen has been a resident of Fort Lee for many years where she was a parishioner of Madonna Church. She had been employed as a hostess at her father’s restaurant, Gene Boyle’s Restaurant, formerly of Clifton, until their closing. Previous employment was as a network TV buyer with Ted Bates & Co. Advertising in New York City.
Maureen has served on local Boards including Medical Missions for Children and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson. She also supported and raised funds for many charitable causes including Play for P.I.N.K. through Upper Montclair Country Club, of which she was a long time member and for the pledge drives of PBS station WNET.
Maureen was predeceased by her father, Gene Boyle, Jr. and one brother, Gary Boyle.
Survivors include: her beloved husband, Dr. Walter F. Guarino; her dear mother, Marge (nee Tunkel) Boyle; her siblings, Gene Boyle, III and his wife, Rita, Kathleen Kohrherr and her husband, Charles and Thomas Boyle and his wife, Gail; five nieces and nephews, Allison Jacobs, Christopher Hall, Carly Boyle, Gene Boyle, IV and Jenna Boyle; and four great-nephews.
