Mayra (Mohar) Ravelo

Mayra (nee Mohar) Ravelo, of Clifton, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025.  Born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Mayra came to the United States in 1980 and settled in Newark.  She has resided in Clifton for the last 25 years.  Mayra enjoyed taking care of her plants and shopping.  Nothing was more important to Mayra than her family.  Family was everything to her. As a matter of fact, she would claim that “her religion was her family”.

Mayra’s family members include: her beloved husband, Israel Ravelo; three devoted children, Mayelin Ravelo (Adiel) of Randolph, Modesto Ravelo (Nixlu) of Clifton and Camila Ravelo (Alan) of Little Falls; her siblings, the late Adalberto Mohar, Jose Mohar, Maria Cecilia Castaneda and Camilo Mohar; and her seven grandchildren, the late Frijolito, Alejandrina, Isabella, Alejandro, Israelito, Eleanor (Ellie) and Alaia.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 11:00 am at the funeral home followed by the committal at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
