Michael T. Renda, 99, of Clifton, NJ, born in Brooklyn, NY, was called to eternal life on Friday, February 25, 2022. Dearly beloved husband of the late Nancy Renda and cherished father of the late Richard Renda. Survived by his loving sister Terry Botta. Will be sadly missed by his adoring Godchild and niece, Susan Cenci Corrado, and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Minnie and his siblings Esther Iovine, Molly Ytuarte, Rose Manganelli, Genero, Benjamin, James, Ralph and Joseph.
Michael was a kind and generous man to all those he knew and also to those he didn’t know, enriching the lives of many, especially in his efforts to support children in need.
Michael was proud to serve in the US Army and was a World War II Veteran and a proud recipient of the American Service, Asiatic-Pacific Service, Good Conduct and World War II Victory Medals. His career started as a precision machinist, working his way up to partner of Lincoln Can Company in Brooklyn, NY. During his retirement, he loved to tinker with his tools and was a master craftsman who could make anything. Michael had a love for pigeons since he was a young boy and he built a pigeon coop in his backyard, caring for his pigeons on a daily basis. He was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter #2, Clifton and had been a faithful parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton where he was a member of the St. Philip the Apostle Knights of Columbus Council #11671.
Visitation will be held Thursday March 3, 2022 from 4:00-8:00pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:45am from the funeral home followed by an 11:30am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Food for the Poor, P.O.
