Nancy Jean (Heist) Wendt

Nancy Jean Wendt, née Heist, formerly of North Caldwell, NJ, passed away on April 4 at the age of 85. She was a bright, funny, and energetic mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. We will miss her terribly.

Nancy is survived by her 5 children, Bruce Wendt (Susan), of Swarthmore, PA, Krista Wendt Nonemaker (Walter), of Antigua, Guatemala, Sara Wendt, of Jersey City, NJ, Eric Wendt, of Boonton, NJ, and Elizabeth Wendt Lomauro (Russell), of Caldwell, NJ. Nancy has 5 grandchildren: Walter and Steven Nonemaker, Isabella and Cecilia Lomauro, and Lillian Wendt and also 5 great-grandchildren: Sophia Valentina and Max Nonemaker, and Andrew, Lucy, and Amethyst Nonemaker. Nancy was pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years, Carl William Wendt in May 2006. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Jane Gilmer who is 95 years old.

Nancy grew up in Newark, NJ, attended West Side High School and graduated from Bloomfield College with a degree in nursing in 1956.     

Given these trying times, no services have been planned. For all of you who knew and loved Nancy, please say goodbye aloud and remember her smile and her wit.
