Nicholas Chester Swede, 38, of Clifton, passed away February 1, 2024. Born in Belleville, Nicholas was raised in Clifton where he resided for most of his life. He had been employed as a Financial Analyst after earning a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Nicholas was a spiritual person who was a parishioner of Ss. Cyril and Methodius R.C. Church in Clifton. As a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he served in the Reserves from 2006 to 2012.
Nicholas had an enthusiasm with learning about life, taking adventurous trips with his family, rocking out on his drum set, exploring different types of music and talking to people about history and the philosophies of life.
Nicholas was predeceased by his beloved father, Ronald William Swede in 2017 and other members of the Swede and Martineau families.
Survivors include: his devoted mother, Claire Lucille (nee Martineau) Swede; his two dear sisters, Danielle Swede and Rachelle Swede; two loving nieces, Emma and Layla Swede; his uncle, Dave Martineau (Caroline); cousins, Joey Martineau (Stephanie), Christine DaSilva (Jack) and Michelle Cevoli (Buddy); and his aunt, Barbara Daniels.
Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 10:00 am at Ss. Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, 218 Ackerman Avenue, Clifton followed by a committal at St. Mary Cemetery in Saddle Brook.
