Olga C. (nee Csaszar) Bertalan passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at the venerable age of 94. Born in New York, NY, on March 14, 1931, Olga was raised in New Jersey, setting down roots in Clifton where she resided for the last seventy years. She lived her life as an example of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness to all who knew her.
Olga was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Bertalan, Sr., who predeceased her on November 2, 2015. Together, they shared a beautiful life, filled with moments of joy and unwavering partnership. She is survived by her loving children – Karen Ost and her husband Ed of Lake Worth, FL; Frederick Bertalan of Clifton; Andrea Swanson of Wilmington, NC; and Thomas Bertalan and his wife Mika of Clifton. Olga was a loving sister to her brother Ernest Csaszar and his wife Nancy of Murrells Inlet, SC. Her legacy includes her adored grandchildren, Scott Swanson and his wife Jana, Kristen Swanson, and Andrew Swanson, who will carry forward her spirit of generosity and compassion.
Before retiring thirty years ago, Olga dedicated her professional life as a Billing Clerk for Deluxe Check Printers, where her meticulousness and strong work ethic were well appreciated. She was a parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church in Clifton, where she found great comfort and community.
Renowned for her culinary skills, Olga was a fantastic cook whose recipes and dishes brought the family together on countless occasions. Her love for painting, gardening, baking, and especially candy making, were hobbies that not only filled her home with beauty and sweet treats but also provided her family and friends with cherished memories.
Olga's life was a testament to the power of nurturing relationships and savoring life's simple pleasures. It is with heavy hearts that her family says goodbye, but they take solace in the rich tapestry of memories they have of her. Olga's warm embrace will be dearly missed, but the essence of her being will forever be a beacon of love and warmth in the hearts of those she touched.
