Pamela Grace White was born on March 8, 1960, to the late Jessica Marie and Nathan White Sr. in Passaic, New Jersey. Pamela was educated in the Passaic Public School System, and she later attended Wilfred Beauty Academy where she successfully completed and became a licensed cosmetologist. She also attended Passaic County Community College and received her associate degree in criminal justice in 2004.
Not long after graduating high school, Pam ran for and won a seat in Passaic’s City Council where she made history as the city’s youngest council member in 1978. Pam loved serving the public in any capacity she could. After her tenures with the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office and Passaic County Community College, she became very involved with public service activities. Her passion to serve and be present in the community led her to become gainfully employed with the W.A.F.A.A. organization (Women and Families Ascending Association), a nonprofit group that helps families and/or individual women through various social programs. Pam became active and enjoyed being a member of Congressman Bill Pascrell’s campaign that offered her the opportunity to attend many of his events.
Pam studied the Bible and attended many Bible classes throughout her life. Known for her unique voice, she also sang on her church choir. Singing allowed her to perform in off Broadway plays for the theatrical producer and playwright Vy Higginsen and as a back-up singer with the multi-platinum group The Shirelles with her cousin Beverly Lee.
On Thursday, January 25th, 2024, Pam transitioned from labor to reward.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents Jessica Marie (Edwards) and Nathan White Sr., brothers Lester White and Nathan J. White.
Pam is survived by three children: Jeffonne White, LaToya White, and Chidera White
Two granddaughters: Jessica White and Joshlyn White
Siblings: Paula (Willie) Pickett, Robert (Marsha), Claire (Garey) Taylor, Priscilla, Thomas (Colette), Portia (Mark) Gaffney, Shelly Smith, Faye, Michael, Camille, Travis (Vanessa), one uncle: Curtis (Gwen) Edwards, and a host of nieces, nephews, and devoted friends.
