Patricia A. Hayes

Patricia Anne Hayes, 80, of Paterson, passed away on April 17, 2026.  Born in Paterson, Patricia was raised in Waldwick and Clifton and later in life settled in Paterson.  Before her retirement, Patricia was a Library Media Specialist in the Whippany school system--a profession she thoroughly enjoyed and was so very good at. The children loved their Miss Hayes!

Patricia was pre-deceased by her loving brother John Hayes in 2020. 

She is survived by loving sister, Nadine Hayes Trahey, husband Dan Trahey and their children Scott (Jessica), David (Elizabeth), Michael (Lauren), Anne Patricia & her fiancée Luke McDevitt.

She will also be mourned by sister-in-law, Crystal Hayes, who helped Patricia with errands, doctor appointments, and just being there for her these last few years. Along with her children Robert (Chelsea) and Richard (Karen).

Patricia was also blessed with 8 great nieces and nephews!

She is being mourned by her dearest friends, Barbara & John Zane of Toms River who have been her pals since high school days.

Spotty, her dearest furry cat friend, will be missing her every day.

Memorial Service to be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 810 Broad Street, Clifton, NJ 07013, at 11:00 am on Friday, May 8, 2026.
