Peter Fierro

Peter Fierro, 83, of Clifton, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Born at home and raised in Paterson, he remained a city resident until moving to Clifton 47 years ago. Peter graduated from the Paterson Vocational and Technical School in January 1958.  He was employed as a letter carrier with the Paterson Post Office until his retirement in 1995.

Peter was a faithful Roman Catholic and highly valued weekly mass attendance. He enjoyed shopping and watching sports on television, especially the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies.  Peter loved to travel by car and drove to all of the 48 contiguous United States.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Theresa and Nancy as well as his brother, Joseph.

Survivors include: his beloved wife of 47 years, Eileen (nee Sommariva); his son, Peter W. Fierro (Heather); his daughter, Eileen M. Fazio (Marcus); his three loving grandchildren, Matthew, David and Elizabeth; his in-laws, Susan Kopko (Gary), William Sommariva (Susan) and Judith Fierro; 17 nieces and nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 26, 2024 at 9:15 am from the funeral home and 10:00 am at St. Paul R.C. Church, 124 Union Avenue, Clifton.
