Peter Paul Sienicki, Jr. of Woodland Park passed away on July 5, 2026 at the age of 79. Born on August 30, 1946, in Passaic, he was raised and lived in Clifton for most of his life before moving to Woodland Park in 2012. He lived a life marked by faith, courage, and kindness and will be remembered with deep love by all who knew him.

Pete was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Ramos) Sienicki of Woodland Park and the devoted father of Christine Sienicki and her husband Chris Matesevac of Jersey City. He was the cherished son of the late Peter P. Sienicki, Sr. (1984) and the late Anna (nee Trnka) Sienicki (1993). He was also the loving brother of Barbara Steflick and her husband Ronald of Arizona. He was predeceased by his beloved grand-dogs, Macie and Simba and grand-cats, Shanna and Alex, who brought him years of joy and companionship and is survived by his current grand-dog, Lando.

Pete was a proud graduate of Pope Pius XII High School, formerly in Passaic. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in education from Fairleigh Dickinson University and later received a master’s degree in Guidance Counseling from Montclair State University. His commitment to learning and service shaped both his professional life and the many lives he touched along the way.

He served his country honorably as a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War, where he earned the Silver Heart and Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. He was a proud member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Disabled American Veterans organizations. Following his military service, Pete dedicated himself to helping others through his work as a teacher and later as a Social Worker for the Paterson Counseling Center, where he served with compassion and professionalism until his retirement. His career reflected his deep concern for the well-being of others and his steady desire to make a difference.

Pete was a faithful parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church in Clifton and a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol in Passaic. Along with his wife Beth, Peter’s faith was an important part of his life and guided the way he treated others both personally as well as professionally. He was admired for his steadfast spirit and for the quiet strength he carried throughout his life and those who knew Pete will remember him as a faith-filled, courageous, and kind man. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, service to country, commitment to education, and compassion for his community.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Monday 9:15am from the funeral home and 10:00am at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
