Phillip W. Wood

Phillip W. Wood, 80, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Born and raised in Covington, Kentucky, Philip lived there till he was seventeen years old, when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy he met and married Barbara Ann (nee Lewis) and they had their first child. After his Honorable discharge from the Navy he and his family settled in Clifton, NJ where they had two more children. He worked for PSE&G, Ridgefield Park, NJ as a control operator for thirty-seven years before retiring. While at PSE&G he played on their softball team and would also play golf. Family was everything to Phillip he enjoyed when everyone was together.

He was predeceased by his wife of sixty-one years, the former Barbara Ann Lewis, July 23, 2023; his parents, Richard Lee and Mary Elizabeth (nee Beckett) Wood; and one brother, Robert Wood.

He is survived by his three children, James Wood and his wife, Karen, Denise Wood and her husband, Victor Scrivens and Misty Archer; four grandchildren, Keira Wood, Jaxson Archer, Phillip Wood and his wife, Liz and Holly Wood; and three great-grandchildren, Scott Wood, Angelo Marino and Hazel Marino.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 pm an Military Honors at 5:00 pm. Private cremation to follow.
