Randy E. Howard passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, in Passaic, New Jersey, surrounded by his wife and children. A devoted husband and loving father, Randy was a steady, constant presence and meant everything to his family.
Born on September 14, 1954, in Fairfield, California, Randy spent part of his childhood in Japan and Labrador due to his father’s service in the U.S. Army. His family later settled in New Jersey, where he built his life and remained ever since.
Randy dedicated 45 years to Passaic General Hospital, later St. Mary’s General Hospital, where he served as Manager of the Histology Lab and met his wife, Phyllis. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in providing for his family. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Passaic and served as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 34 in Clifton, New Jersey.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis J. Howard; his children, Karen A. Howard, Lisa E. Howard, and Michael J. Howard; his daughter-in-law, Mallory; his brother, Edward Howard; and his sister, Alice Fortino. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward H. Howard and Jadwiga Pawlicka. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he served, and remembered for his quiet strength, integrity, and deep love for his family.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 9, 2026 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by the interment at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton.
