Raymond A. Fitzpatrick, of Clifton, born October 10, 1930 in Paterson, NJ passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 19, 2022. Born and raised in Paterson, Raymond proudly served seven years in the US Navy from May 1949 - 1956. After being honorably discharged, he proudly served 28 years with the Paterson Fire Department.
Raymond was married 66 years to his eternal love, Martha (formerly Glass). Together they raised a family of four children, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Raymond was a devoted family man who very much enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and enjoying his life.
Raymond was a long-time parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, Clifton. He was a member Knights of Columbus St. Philip the Apostle Council #11671 and the Msgr. Stein Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was an active member of the American Legion Bernard Armitage Post 360.
He is survived by his wife, Martha and his children Raymond J Fitzpatrick (Patricia) of Colchester, VT; Dennis Fitzpatrick (Michelle) of Woodland Park, NJ; Jane Vitone (David) of Glenwood, NJ; and Andrew Fitzpatrick (Lorri) of Woodland Park, NJ; his grandchildren David Vitone (Natalie) of Sparta, NJ; Megan Fitzpatrick of Clifton, NJ; Ryan Fitzpatrick (Emily) of Mallets Bay, VT; Bryan Fitzpatrick of Milton, VT; Kyle Fitzpatrick (Megan) of West Caldwell, NJ; Tyler Vitone (Emil) of Boonton, NJ; Aaron and Evan Fitzpatrick of Woodland Park, NJ; his great grandchildren Jack Fitzpatrick of Colchester, VT; Cooper, Hudson, Parker and Raegan Vitone of Sparta, NJ. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Edward Fitzpatrick.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Monday 9:00 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church , 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paterson Firefighters Foundation, 300 McBride Ave., Paterson, NJ 07501.
