Richard Albert Flubacher, 84, of Park Ridge, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday July 10, 2025.
Born in Paterson, Richard was raised in Bergen County and graduated from Ramapo High School where he was a member of the Track & Field team and held the state record for long jump for many years. Prior to retiring in 2002, he was employed with the State of New Jersey Division of Veterans Affairs for ten years as a Veterans Representative. Previously, Richard had been with the Bendix Corporation for twenty-five years as a Supervisor in the Test Systems Division in charge of testing equipment for F-14 fighter jets. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and avidly collected antiques, enjoyed playing cards, and loved playing golf.
Richard was predeceased by his two dear brothers: Arthur Flubacher and Thomas Waddell. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy (nee Lisowski)Flubacher, of Park Ridge, NJ; three beloved children: Derek Flubacher and his husband, Peter Mendez, of South Orange, NJ, Kimberly Flubacher and her partner, Alexander Greig, of Greene, NY and Keri Borsella and her husband, Alan Borsella, of Park Ridge, NJ; and by his four cherished grandchildren: Robert Thompson, Richard Thompson, Kyle Bratcher and Caitlyn Bratcher.
Memorial Visitation for Richard will be held on Thursday July 17 from 3:00-5:00pm with a United States Marine Corps Military Honors Service to follow at 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to either:
