Richard Marranzino, 86, of Clifton passed away peacefully with family by his bedside on Tuesday August 29, 2023.
Born and raised in Yonkers, New York, Mr. Marranzino resided there until 1979 when he moved to Clifton. Prior to retiring, he had been employed as a butcher at DeCicco Food Markets in Eastchester and then New City, NY. Previously Mr. Marranzino had owned his family butcher shop, Maynard Meat Market in Tuckahoe, NY for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army who served at the Hungarian refugee camp at Camp Kilmer, NJ. He was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church in Clifton. Mr. Marranzino loved crabbing down the Jersey Shore and playing the New Jersey Lottery, especially the scratch-offs.
Mr. Marranzino was predeceased by his beloved and missed wife, Marie J. (nee Capodanno) Marranzino, in 2020, a deeply missed son, Richard Marranzino, Jr. in 2010 and by four dear siblings: Matthew Marranzino, Adeline Mercurio, Helen Marranzino and Lillian Torre.
He is survived by two loving children: son Paul Marranzino and his wife, Rosemary and their three boys, Paul, Anthony and Nicholas and daughter Nancy M. Barnett and her husband, Bob and their children, Matthew and Marissa; daughter-in-law, Susan Marranzino and granddaughter, Celia Marranzino; a dear sister, Marie Vitulli, of Yonkers, NY; sister-in-law Barbara Rohde and her husband, Chuck; and by his many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Services will be Friday 10:45am from the funeral home and 11:30am at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
