Rita Mary (Clark) Wojchik

Rita Mary (nee Clark) Wojchik, 72, of Cedar Grove, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Born in Newark, Rita was raised in Wayne and lived most of her adult life in Clifton.  She has been a resident of Cedar Grove since 2002.  Before retirement in 2014, Rita was employed as a high school English teacher with the West Orange Board of Education for 25 years. 

Rita was a former parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church in Wayne.  Rita was very proud of her Irish citizenship.  She was a member of the William Paterson University Heritage Society and the New Jersey Education Association.  Rita was an avid reader, she loved yoga and travelled extensively throughout the United States and abroad.  She and her husband, John, have been to Ireland, Italy, Alaska, the Grand Canyon and most of the U.S. National Parks. Rita and John also maintained a summer residence on Long Beach Island. She enjoyed redecorating her homes and the hunt of finding the perfect piece of furniture, lamp or accent piece.  More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Lorraine (nee Murphy) Clark.

Survivors include: her beloved husband of 49 years, John Wojchik; her two devoted sons, Michael J. Wojchik and his wife, Lisa and Matthew C. Wojchik; her two loving grandsons, Jackson and James Wojchik; and her siblings, Kathleen Toomey and her husband, James, Laurie Lang and her husband, Mark and Joseph Clark.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 630 Valley Road, Wayne.
