Robert Barhorst Obituary

Robert J. Barhorst, 63, of Clifton, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020. Born in Paterson, he was a lifelong resident of Fordham Road in Clifton. Before retirement, he was employed for 35 years as a carrier with the United States Postal Service in Bloomfield. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers.

Bob (Horse, Barney etc..), as he was known, volunteered for the Clifton Varsity Club where he helped run the kitchen at Clifton Stadium. He was a huge fan of sports in general, but loved his Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees and Duke Basketball.  Most of all, Bob loved spending time with his wife and daughters at their summer home at the Jersey Shore.

He was predeceased by his parents, William H. and Joan (nee Delaney) Barhorst and his sister, Barbara Barhorst.

Survivors include: his beloved wife, Carolyn (nee Seber) Barhorst; his two loving daughters, Monica and Megan Barhorst; his brother, William G. Barhorst and his partner, Sue Cole and their son, Ryan Barhorst; aunts; uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be private for the family only.  A public memorial will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to a cancer organization of your choice. Arrangements are by Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.
