Robert A. Forte

Robert A. Forte, 82, of Montville, N.J. passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2026.

Born on August 22, 1943 in Orange, Bob was raised in Clifton, where he resided until moving to Montville in 1988. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from University of Louisiana at Monroe (formerly known as Northeast Louisiana State College). His career, though, was that of being the business owner with his brother, Richard Forte, of Al Forte Inc., a family-owned transport company based in Wayne that was started by his father.
 

His many interests included golfing, bowling, poker and traveling with his wife. In addition, Bob was outgoing and enjoyed the company of friends and family.

He was the beloved husband of the late Susan M. Forte (née Poles) who predeceased him on January 27, 2013. He is survived by David Forte, his wife Catherine and their children, Madison and Olivia; Robert Forte and his fiancée Jillian Vesia; Matthew Forte and his wife Dorida; Alexandra Roccotagliata and her husband Christian; and his three siblings, Richard Forte, Ellen Biondo and Laraine Jaeger.

Bob will always be remembered as a man of character, intelligence and devotion to family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, N.J. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00am at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton, N.J. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair, N.J.
