Robert V. Politika, 76, of Clifton passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday September 17th, 2025.
Born in Cornwall, NY, his family lived briefly in Wallkill, NY before settling in Woodland Park where Bob was raised and for the past forty years, he’s resided in Clifton. Prior to retiring, he had been employed with the Jersey City Water Dept. for over forty-five years. Bob was a professional drummer with The Cadillac Cowboys for many years. He loved to meet and talk to people and joke around with them. He loved to tinker and loved watches, often times tinkering with them and loved his day and weekend trips with his wife, day trips with his daughter, visiting with his grandson, and the time spent with them. Animals always brought joy and happiness to Bob, from the talking crow he had as a child to the three cats he had at his passing: “Diplomat”, “Patches” and especially “Tiger”, who walked with Bob around the neighborhood without being on a leash. Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.
He was predeceased by his loved and missed parents: John and Sophie (nee March) Politika and by his best friend and “brother”, Jeff Lloyd, who passed away in 2019.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of forty years, Elizabeth (Liz)(nee Sayers) Politika, of Clifton; by his loved daughter, Tanya Politika, of Woodland Park; and by his dear grandson Robert (Bobby) Politika and his wife, Annie, also of Woodland Park. He had a really Big Heart and will be greatly missed.
Visiting will be Thursday from 4-8pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.
