Rosario Impoco, a cherished soul, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025. Born on January 15, 1946, in the beautiful town of Vittoria, Sicily, Italy Rosario's journey of life was marked by love, dedication, and a strong sense of community.
Rosario's early years in Sicily were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family and the picturesque landscapes of his hometown. His commitment to service was evident from his honorable tenure in the Italian Army, a time during which he developed a strong sense of discipline and pride in his work. In 1974, seeking new opportunities, Rosario made the bold decision to immigrate to the United States, initially settling in Brooklyn, New York, before finding his long-term home in Jersey City, New Jersey, the following year.
For 35 years, Rosario was a fixture in the Jersey City community, where he was known for his friendly greetings and willingness to lend a helping hand. In 2010, he moved to Clifton, New Jersey, where he continued to make a positive impact on those around him. Before retiring, Rosario dedicated 18 years of service to the Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. His earlier years in construction in New York City showcased his remarkable work ethic and skillful craftsmanship.
Rosario's love for the earth and its bounty was evident in the meticulous care he gave to his vegetable garden. He found joy in nurturing his plants and took pride in the harvest, sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. The tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplants he grew were not just food; they were symbols of his love for nature and his passion for life.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his beloved wife, Eugenia Impoco, and his devoted daughter, Rosaria Impoco. Rosario's bond with his siblings was a source of strength and joy throughout his life. He is survived by his brother, Giambattista Impoco, and sister, Giorgia Impoco. He was predeceased by his sister, Angela, and brothers, Giuseppe, Giovanni, and Salvatore Impoco. His memory will also be cherished by his several loving nieces and nephews, who will miss his guidance and affection.
As we bid farewell to Rosario Impoco, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a legacy that will endure in the hearts of his family and friends. His story is one of courage, perseverance, and the enduring power of the human spirit. Rest in peace, dear Rosario, your memory will forever be a beacon of light for all who had the privilege of knowing you.
