Tekla Duda, 98, of Clifton, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Duda was born and raised in Posukhiv, Ukraine. During World War II, she spent several years in a forced labor camp in Germany. In 1949, Mrs. Duda came to America and settled in New York City. She resided in the New York City area before moving to Clifton in 1964. Mrs. Duda was a faithful parishioner of both St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church in New York City as well as St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Passaic.
She was predeceased by her husband, Antin Duda in 1982 and her three brothers.
Survivors include: three children, Eugene Duda, Anna Abruscato and Robert Duda, all of Clifton; three grandchildren, Jeanna Duda, Anthony Duda and his wife, Danielle and Lana Abruscato; and one great-granddaughter, Aubriella Duda.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Parastas will be held Thursday Evening 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday morning 8:30 am from the funeral home followed by 9:00 am services at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 217 President Street, Passaic. Interment will follow at Holy Spirit Cemetery in Hamptonburgh, New York.
