It is with heavy, broken hearts that we announce the passing of Victor Hugo Saharig, 78, of Passaic, NJ. He passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, Born in Lomas, Arequipa, Peru, Victor came to the United States in 1970 and settled in Passaic NJ.

Victor was a machinist for over 30 years and enjoyed DIY projects. Victor and his wife, Flor, were faithful and active parishioners of St. Andrew the Apostle church in Clifton.  He was a fervent handyman, mechanic, and an avid reader with a love for history and mathematics. Victor enjoyed spending time with his family and raising his grandkids. Victor was a father figure to not only his children, but his siblings who he helped raise. He dedicated his life to providing a better life for his family.

He is predeceased by his parents, Carlos and Olga (nee Espinel) Saharig; and three brothers, Alejandro Saharig, Carlos Saharig and Luis Novoa.

Victor is survived by: his wife, Flor (nee Culque) Saharig; four children, Ada F. Saharig, Boris A. Saharig, Vanessa R. Saharig and Eric M. Saharig and his wife, Krystel T. Saharig; four grandchildren, Kyle Martin, Tyler Martin, Noah Saharig and Daniela Saharig; canine grandbaby, Mars; and eleven siblings, Carmen Obregon, Robert Saharig, Violeta Rios, Grace Castenada, Anna Saharig, Gary Saharig, Rudy Saharig, Raul Saharig, Gina Saharig and Fabiola Saharig.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave, Clifton. Funeral service 8:45 am Saturday at the funeral home. 9:30 am Mass to follow at St. Andrew the Apostle R.C. Church, 400 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07012. Interment to follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07014.
