Viola Fanale, 90, of Emerson and formerly of Bloomfield passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
Mrs. Viola Fanale grew up in Clifton and then once married resided in Bloomfield. Viola worked at regional banks and then transitioned from this employment to work at home to provide full time care and support for her husband and daughter. Viola treasured time gardening, cooking, baking, and reading. She also loved spending time with her family, friends, neighbors, and pets.
Viola is predeceased by her parents, Gotthard and Victoria Winkler, as well as by her siblings Irene Chudzik, Agnes Emerick, Dolores Winkler, and Gregory Winkler. She is also predeceased her husband, John Fanale, and by her brother-in-law, Vincent Fanale.
Mrs. Fanale is survived by her daughter, Michelle Fanale, MD and her husband, Adrian Rodriguez, of Houston, Texas, and her nephews and nieces, Douglas Chudzik, MD, Carol Douglas, John Emerick, MD, and Mary Ann Kavanaugh, as well as multiple great nephews and nieces and their children.
Visiting hours are on Tuesday, November, 14, 2023 from 4 to 8 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, November, 15, 2023 at 8:45 am at funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass at Saint Phillip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 712 Grove Street, Montclair followed by a Repass at Bella Napoli Ristorante, 1640 Broad Street, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Essex County Brookdale Park Rose Garden, Bloomfield by emailing Master Gardener Don McLoughlin at RoseGarden@BrookdalePark.org.
